Audi has revealed pricing and specification information for the Q2, its new compact SUV, as order books open for UK customers.
It takes the bold styling seen on Audi’s bigger SUVs – the Q3, Q5 and Q7 – to provide a new contender in the premium crossover segment, helping the German manufacturer fill every possible niche in the SUV market.
From launch there will be three engines to choose from, comprising of two diesels and one petrol. On the diesel front, there’s a 114bhp 1.6-litre TDI unit and a 2.0-litre TDI making 148bhp. As for the petrol option, that’s a 148bhp 1.4-litre TFSI.
An entry-level petrol option will enter the range later in the year, offering 115bhp. All engines are available with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed S tronic automatic.
There are four trim levels available: SE, Sport, S line and Edition #1. Standard equipment across the range includes progressive steering, a smartphone link interface, crash prevention systems and alloy wheels.
Depending on the trim level chosen, the Q2 can also come with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit technology, which replaces the instrument binnacle with a configurable high-definition screen, head-up display and wireless charging.
The top-spec Edition #1 trim level comes with a unique grey paint, LED lights, brown interior highlights, illuminated inlays, contrasting body panels and many other individual touches.
There are also a host of driver assistance systems that have been implemented from Audi’s larger SUVs, including adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane assist and emergency assist.
Prices start at £22,380 for the 1.4-litre petrol SE model, while the most expensive variant is the 2.0-litre TDI-engined Edition #1, which costs £35,730.
The Audi Q2 is available to order now, with UK deliveries beginning on November 12.
