Mercedes-Benz has announced its pricing and specifications for its new SLC roadster.
For the first time in 20 years, the SLK has had a name change – to SLC.
The two-seat convertible comes with a choice of four engines, ranging from a 2.1-litre diesel engine to a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo unit.
The SLC is also available in two specifications – Sport and AMG Line. These incorporate such standard equipment as LED daytime running lights, sports pedals, LED tail lights and a chrome-plated twin exhaust system.
Of course, being a Mercedes there’s a vast array of optional extras, with drivers able to choose from LED Intelligent Light Systems, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, among others.
The Keyless Go package is also available, which includes an automatic boot separator. This will automatically lower when the driver lowers the roof, which means that the driver doesn’t need to manually fold away the boot separator.
At the top of the range sits the SLC 43, which produces 367bhp and 520Nm of torque – the SLC 43 can go from 0-62mph in just 4.7 seconds. It is then electronically limited to 155mph. This incredible performance comes through a nine-speed dual clutch gearbox. Although the SLC 43 is quick, it still returns 20g/km CO2 less than its predecessor – the SLK 55 AMG.
Prices for the SLC start at £30,295, rising to £46,355 for the SLC 43. It is now available to order, with deliveries beginning soon.
