Meet the motorcycle-riding cat from Rio

A motorcycle-riding cat has taken the internet by storm after videos of him riding aboard his owner’s motorcycle surfaced.

Chiquinho – or Brazilian Garfield as he is affectionately known – likes to perch on the front of his owner Alexandre Goulart’s Honda motorcycle and go for rides around the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Goulart films the rides on a chest-mounted camera, and the 12-year-old ginger tom appears to be nonplussed by the busy streets or the motion of the motorcycle as he relaxes on the tank, wearing goggles and a cap.

In an interview with Brazilian news site Globo.com, Goulart said that the cat accompanies him on his daily tasks, which include going to the church and the shops.

The father-of-four said: 'I've looked for a meaning in life without Chiquinho, not found. It's the love of my life. I ask God to give many years of life to him.
