McLaren has introduced another model into its flourishing range of ride-on cars for children – the GT.

Following on from ride-on versions of the firm’s P1, 720S and Senna, the GT is now available to supercar enthusiasts aged between three and six years old.

It incorporates the same dihedral doors that you’d find on the full-size GT, while a storage compartment inside is ideal for any odds and ends.

There are also working dashboard controls and a keyless start that activates McLaren engine sounds. In addition, the accelerator triggers revving noises, while the brake pedal activates the rear lights.

Journeys can also be made all the more exciting with music played through an infotainment system that can access audio from a USB device or compatible SD card.

Hayley Robinson, Merchandise, Licensing & Partnerships Manager, McLaren Automotive, said: “At McLaren Automotive, we aim to inspire the future generation of supercar enthusiasts. The new GT Ride-On allows even the smallest of fans to discover the magic of our pioneering supercars.

“We’re proud to develop and encourage younger minds and seek to create the next generation of drivers, engineers, and automotive designers.”

The GT ride-on can be selected in six authentic McLaren colours including Burnished Copper, Silica White and McLaren Orange. It’s priced from £163 to £234, depending on the options selected and can be ordered now from major toy retailers.
