British manufacturer Lister has lifted the lid on its LFT-666 sports car with just 10 of the Jaguar F-Type-based models set to be built.

Continuing on from the success of its recent LFT-666 coupe, the Lister Motor Company is launching its fastest convertible model ever. The LFT-C utilises the same 666bhp V8 petrol engine as its hard-top sibling, which promises a top speed of 205mph and a 0-60mph time of just over three seconds.

While the LFT-C looks hardly dissimilar from the Jaguar F-Type it’s based on, Lister changes the bodywork, mechanicals and interior to ensure it stands out from the production model.

The same raucous exhaust, bespoke alloy wheels, suspension and brakes that appear on the coupe will be fitted to the convertible, while other Lister details include carbon fibre body panels and a different front bumper, front splitter, extended wheel arches and a new grille among other differences.

Just 10 of the convertibles are set to be built, with each set to be bespoke as each unit will be manufactured to the customer’s own specification. The interior is also trimmed in Nappa leather upholstery.

All this luxury and performance comes at a price, with the LFT-C costing from £139,900, which is a lot more than the £118,875 SVR – Jaguar’s fastest F-Type production variant.

Lawrence Whittaker, chief executive officer of The Lister Motor Company, said: “Launching the new LFT-C is a personal triumph, as I have always loved convertible cars. The LFT series heralds a new era for Lister and continues our historical enhancement of Jaguar drive trains, which dates back to 1957.”

Lister, which has a long history of unofficially tuning Jaguar models — predominantly for the racetrack in past years — remained dormant for some time, but was acquired by new owners in 2013 and has since found success by producing continuation models of past racing Listers. They are now venturing into fettled Jaguar road models, with its first deliveries of the LFT-666 starting in January.

The firm also offers styling kits for all F-Types, with prices for those kits starting from £9,750, while later in the year a tuned version of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR SUV is set to be launched, and promises to be the world’s fastest SUV with a top speed in excess of 200mph.
