An ultra-exclusive supercar has shown up for sale at a dealership in Germany. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is advertised at an incredible 5.5 million euros (£4.5 million).
Only 12 Venenos were ever built by the Italian manufacturer, with just three being hard tops and the remaining nine convertibles.
Unfortunately with cars like this, they’re often meticulously maintained in a collector’s warehouse rather than being driven, and that’s exactly what’s happened here. This black example has done just 56 miles since it was built in 2014.
Stowing the car away is understandable, though. If the car sells for close to what it’s being advertised at, it will represent an increase of nearly £1 million in just two years. That’s a slightly better return than you’d get on an ISA!
So what exactly makes this Lamborghini so much more special than the others? Well, aside from the exclusivity, it’s also an absolute tech-fest.
The wheels have a special carbon-fibre ring that directs air to the large carbon ceramic brakes to keep them cool, and the whole body is made from expensive carbon-fibre to keep weight down.
Normally, convertible equivalents are marginally slower than their hard top siblings due to extra strengthening increasing weight. But the Veneno Roadster’s stats are identical to those of the car with a roof.
That means it howls from 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 221mph. At the heart of the car is a 6.5-litre V12 engine.
Hopefully whoever stumps up the cash for this awesome car will use it on the road rather than keep it stowed away…
