Aston Martin has revealed a limited edition version of its DBS Superleggera, which has been designed to pay homage to a car driven by fictional spy James Bond.

The On Her Majesty’s Secret Service DBS Superleggera has been inspired by the original DBS, and the spec in which it appeared in the 1969 Bond film of the same name.

Sporting a unique shade of Olive Green to match the car from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – the sixth film in the James Bond franchise, starring George Lazenby – it also sports unique diamond turned and forged wheels, as well as a bespoke grille, which mimics that of the 50-year-old original.

Inside, the black leather and Alcantara seats feature red stitching, a colour seen throughout the car’s trim in tribute to the red-trimmed glovebox in the original car.

Mechanically, nothing has changed; the Superleggera is still powered by a 715bhp, 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that will take it from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 211mph.

It does, however, boast some additional features, such as an optional bespoke drinks case, which is designed to fit perfectly in the car’s boot, and is designed to take two bottles of champagne and four champagne flutes.

This special edition DBS Superleggera is limited to just 50 units, retailing at £300,007 each. Deliveries are expected in the final quarter of 2019.
