New low-CO2 family car will heavily undercut rivals on price, Honda promises buyers.

A new, lower-priced petrol-electric hybrid car – the Insight – will be unveiled by Honda at next month’s Paris Motor Show. The car adds a second hybrid to the car maker’s model line-up – there’s already a four-door Civic saloon.

The car on show will be a concept model but the production version of a family-size model gs on sale in next spring. Honda says it will be priced significantly lower than any other hybrid car on the market, making the low emission technology accessible to more people.

The Insight, revives the name of the 1999 hybrid coupe – the first production hybrid to be sold in Europe.
