Ford’s Focus has been a staple hatchback on UK roads since it was released in 1998.

Now in its third generation, the model still draws scores of fans due to its affordability and style.

Within the Focus range there is something for everyone, be it eco, image or performance-focused fans.

Want a Focus but can’t decide which is for you? Don’t worry; here at Motors.co.uk we have picked out three models covering three different price points.

The smart choice for saving money: Ford Focus Style

Drivers seeking the Focus experience at a low cost should go for the Style edition. Costing from just £16,245 with a 1.6-litre, 84bhp powertrain, the model is more than adequate for the everyday commuter.

A plentiful standard spec list includes 16-inch five-spoke ‘Design’ steel wheels, electrically-operated and heated door mirrors with body colour housings and a Thatcham Category one alarm.

The smart choice for value: Focus Titanium

Want a well-equipped Focus but aren’t prepared to part with too much money?

Then the £20,595 Focus Titanium is for you. The model comes with a 1.0 EcoBoost 98bhp engine, linked to a five-speed manual gearbox.

On top of the extensive spec featuring in lower grade models, the Titanium boasts a quickclear heated windscreen and washer jets with rain-sensing wipers, front fog lights with chrome applique and automatic headlights.

Rear parking distance sensors and active city stop help to make sure that the car stays safe andeffient when driving and parking in busy areas.

Finally, 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels give the Titanium a luxury look.

The smart choice for technophiles: Ford Focus RS

It would be rude not to list the Focus RS as the technophile option.

Released to rave reviews earlier this year, it is the latest in a long line of RS badged models, and the first to feature all-wheel-drive. Not to mention it has a ‘hoon’ mode, courtesy of drift-master Ken Block.

The £31,000 model is powered by the same engine as the new Mustang – the turbocharged 2.3-litre EcoBoost. Putting out 350bhp via Ford's all-new torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, the Focus RS boasts twin high-performance exhaust pipes, a six-speed manual transmission and four preset Drive Modes – Normal, Sport, Track or Drift.

The model’s striking exterior is complemented by 19-inch multispoke alloy wheels and a unique RS performance rear spoiler, while RS branded Recaro front seats with leather side bolsters continue the performance theme in the cabin.

Ford’s SYNC 2 with 8-inch Touchscreen DAB audio system takes pride of place on the dash, playing the latest tunes through nine Sony speakers.

Meanwhile, additional binaccle mounted gauges showing boost pressure, oil temperature and oil pressure feature alongside a Ford power starter button.
