The premium hatchback market has long been dominated by the familiar German marques, but now Infiniti is hoping to grab a piece of the pie with its new Q30.

Officially it's only a concept, but the Q30 hints at the styling cues of a forthcoming showroom model and is plenty to get excited about, being a blend of coupe, hatchback and crossover designs.

The finished version is still quite some way off, but Infiniti has already confirmed the Q30 will be built exclusively at the Nissan plant in Sunderland.
