Ford dealers across the UK are set to deliver the biggest registration month of the year with the ’08 plate attracting an even larger number of retail customers to the Ford dealers.

The current Ford Fiesta continues to be the UK’s top selling car among private and retail buyers, with 9,348 vehicles sold already this year.

The new focus which went on sale last month is also a high contender to lead the sales figures throughout March.

Other popular models include the Ford Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy large cars. SMMT figures show 47,967 vehicle registrations for the year to date with 36,946 cars and 11,021 commercial vehicles being sold by Ford throughout January and February, emphasizing that Ford continues to be the best selling brand in both markets.

The London congestion charge planned for October will exempt cars that emit under 120g CO2 per kilometer, and with 28 of Ford’s fleet falling under this threshold and over 3000 customers expressing an interest in the new 115g Ford Focus ECOnetic model, Ford are set for a successful year.

Ford's recently launched large car range has helped the company win over 20 per cent more private customers during January and February than in the same months last year. Around 425,000 cars are expected to be sold this March in the UK.
