Fiat has announced the pricings and specifications for its new Fullback.

Designed to meet the needs of all business users, the pickup truck is there to be flexible and dependable at all times.

With engines coming in the form of a 2.4-litre turbodiesel in varying states of tune, the Fullback starts at £20,995.

With the medium-duty pickup segment accounting for 650,000 vehicles each year, competition is fierce. The Fullback maintains the looks of an upmarket SUV while still remaining usable. Satin silver trim is used along the exterior of the car, highlighting its different looks. Standard trim SX receives 16-inch alloy wheels, while LX cars get 17-inch units.

Despite being a rough-and-ready pickup, the Fullback incorporates an impressive amount of equipment. Bluetooth connectivity is included, as is a DAB radio and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Air conditioning comes fitted as standard, as well as wheel-mounted audio controls and electric windows.

There’s also plenty of technology included. LED daytime running lights brighten up the front of the car with hill start assist and cruise control both coming as standard.

Although pickup trucks are usually associated with being less than economical, the Fullback does well to dispel this myth. Returning an impressive 44.2mpg, it also emits just 169g/km – acceptable when compared to rivals.

Of course, the Fullback also has a full four-wheel-drive allowing it to tackle all manner of terrain. Driven through a six-speed manual, the power is controlled through three electrically-selected settings to either four or two wheels. This allows drivers to get the best economy when on the road, or impressive traction when of it.
