Jaguar has confirmed that it is to put its track-biased XKR-S GT on sale in the UK.
Unveiled at the New York Motor show earlier this year, the XKRS-GT was initially only to be offered in the USA and Canada, in a very limited production run numbering 30 examples.
Now, however, Jaguar has confirmed that it is to offer 10 models in the UK, priced from £135,000 on the road.
Sitting at the very top of the XK range, the GT uses the same supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine as the already bonkers XKR-S, though sacrifices some of that car’s svelte looks with a selection of unique aerodynamic body addenda, designed to maximise performance in the corners.
Most notable is the large fixed rear wing, which looks like it has been taken straight from a GT3 race car. Additional components include a new rear diffuser and some ugly, but effective, “dive-planes” in the front bumper.
The XKR-S GT also benefits from revised suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes, which can soak up extreme punishment without eventually giving up the ghost in the same way as conventional steel brake discs.
All of the revisions add up to a car that can lap the fabled Nurburgring Nordschliefe – the unofficial benchmark for high performance cars – in 7min 40sec, making it the fastest ever production Jaguar around the circuit.
Despite this, the XKRS-GT remains completely road usable.
