Premium French brand DS has suggested there could be six models in its model range by 2022, following the launch of an Audi A4-rivalling flagship model, badged DS9 early next year.

Speaking to Auto Express magazine, DS UK managing director Alain Descat said the brand was working towards a ‘six-car showroom.’

While remaining tight lipped about the new models that would make up the six-car showroom, pictures have emerged of two versions of a new DS4 undergoing testing.

That just leaves the gap for a larger SUV to complete the line-up, and if based on the same platform as the DS9, that could make it a similar size to an Audi Q7 or Volkswagen Touareg.

The current DS range comprises of the DS3 Crossback and DS7 Crossback, with the addition of the DS9 premium saloon next year, expanding the range to three models.

The firm is also having an increasing push towards electrification – offering an electric version of the DS3 Crossback and a plug-in hybrid DS7 Crossback. All future models from the firm are set to be offered as either an EV or PHEV, too.
