If the fine selection of Ferrari supercars that are to be auctioned off this month at the Concorso d’Eleganza at he Villa D’Este in Italy are a bit ‘new money’ for you, don’t despair, as a selection of the marque’s gorgeous 60’s classics are also going under the hammer the very same day at Belgium’s Spa race track.

It’s the inaugural auction at the site for longstanding auction house Bonhams, and it’s kicking off proceedings in style with a fine selection of classic supercars from a host of iconic manufacturers.

Amongst the Ferraris are a 1968GTC Berlinetta (pictured) with coachwork by revered Italian design studio Pininfarina. It is expected to fetch around £313,000.

Joining it will be a Ferrari 275GTB Berlinetta. Often referred to as one of the greatest Ferraris ever made, it was built to compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans.

This particular example has a well-documented competition history and as a result will command an asking price of around £782,000.

Also up for sale are a number of competition Porsches, including a rare 1974 911 Carrera RS Coupe and a 1970 3.0-litre rally car prepared by respected 911 tuner Francis Tuthill.

Of most interest to performance car fans is likely to be the inclusion of a Lamborghini Miura, a car that arguably started and defined the supercar genre.

The example being offered is a 1968 P400 Coupe which has been factory restored under the scrutiny of Lamborghini’s former chief test driver Valentino Balboni.

Once the fastest production car in the world, the Miura was capable of 174mph. Only 470 P400 models were ever created, making this a highly sought after example of Lamborghini’s most iconic car. It is expected to raise well over £500,000 at the auction.

Philip Kantor, Head of the Mainland European Motoring department, said: “We are very much looking forward to our first sale at the Spa Motor Circuit, and are delighted to be able to offer such a diverse selection of motor cars, including many classic models of the 1960s and 1970s.

“This auction is one of two new sales the Bonhams Motoring team will host in Belgium this year and the second of the European season, following the €13 million achieved at the Grand Palais in Paris in February.”
