Just as the daffodils begin to bloom, so they are immediately blanketed in snow. It definitely doesn’t feel like the right weather in which to consider obtaining a car which screams ‘summer’ – but while that sunny weather feels so far away it’s also probably the ideal time to take a look at what you want to drive around in once the sunny climate hits…if ever.
With 30 years of proud engineering tradition under their (fan)belts, Audi has good reason to celebrate its recent rollout of their five millionth car off the assembly line. The A4 is a huge favourite amongst luxury car owners and, with tradition now leaning towards a more robust body, the soft-topped Cabriolet for one is proving exceptionally popular on used car sites as they fall out of popular use. This doesn’t mean you’re priced out of experiencing the height of luxury cars though – even brand new they’re mostly reasonably priced.
There’s no two ways about it – the MX-5 is a sleek little number that’s sure to raise excitement along with the temperature, and with three-year-olds appearing on the second-hand market at under ten grand, you’d be hard-pressed to find a car that delivers so much performance and reliability for such a handy price.

While a tight squeeze in the backseat for taller folk, the lesser-known Focus CC is a sturdy convertible car that combines performing power with all the reliability you’d come to expect from one of the premier names in car manufacture. Unlike some of its cousins in the Focus range, it also looks pretty stunning with the top down.
