Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist Brabus has just revealed its newest car. The 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio is based on Mercedes’ S 63 cabriolet, and is claimed to be the fastest and most powerful four-seat cabriolet on sale today.

Under the bonnet is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo engine making 838bhp and 1,069lb ft of torque. To achieve the extra power, the engine has been enlarged and a number of parts have been upgraded.

Power is routed through a seven-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. This allows the Biturbo Cabrio to go from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 217mph.

Brabus has fitted a new stainless steel exhaust system, which enhances the sound from the modified engine. It also has a ‘Coming Home’ mode, which makes the car much quieter when needed.

To compensate for the higher speeds on offer, Brabus has fitted various aerodynamic enhancements to the exterior of the car. Each part is made from carbon fibre, including a front spoiler, rear diffuser and rear spoiler.

The wheels come from Brabus’ own ‘Monoblock’ range, and can be fitted to any Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet. Here, a 21-inch ‘Platinum Edition’ version is used, and can be supplied with tyres from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama. A 22-inch option is also available.

The interior also gets an upgrade, with wood inlays being replaced with carbon-fibre parts, while the standard steering wheel-mounted gear selectors, pedals and door pins can be replaced with aluminium equivalents.

The Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio can either be bought as a complete car, or existing Mercedes-Benz S 63 Cabriolet customers can have their cars upgraded.
