Audi has revealed the details of its latest estate car – the A4 Avant.

Building on the previous generation’s success, this latest A4 Avant is hoping to bring more space and technology to drivers, while offering greater levels of comfort and economy.

With a huge 505-litre load bay with the seats up, the storage room is class leading. It also has an electrically-operated tailgate, and an electrically retracting luggage cover as standard on all models.

Included on even the base Avant is 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and Audi’s smartphone interface. You’ll also find three-zone climate control and a colour monitor fitted to the car as standard.

There’s also a range of engines to choose from, going from four to six cylinder units going through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic gearboxes. There’s also an eight-speed tiptronic transmission.

The A4 Avant can also be specified with Audi’s ‘Virtual Cockpit’ which places all of the driver’s key information into the instrument binnacle. This means that the satellite navigation, economy and speed are all displayed directly to the person behind the wheel.

The 8-inch colour monitor can be controlled through a fingertip-responsive touchpad, meaning that data entry is both quick and hassle-free.

The A4 Avant comes in at a base price of £27,300 for the 1.4-litre petrol engine, pushing up to £40,350 for the 3.0-litre V6 diesel with Quattro technology. This provides even greater traction in difficult conditions and when things get slippery.
