Volkswagen has revealed the details of its redesigned pickup truck – the Amarok.
Coming in as the only pick-up in the market to offer a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the Amarok is there for drivers who are looking for impressive loading capacity as well as decent on-road handling characteristics.
Inside, there’s a completely new navigation system, which incorporates media and radio functions. There’s also 14-way adjustable seating for both the driver and passenger, meaning that it’s easy to get comfortable in the front of the Amarok. These seats also feature contoured side bolsters. They were also awarded a seal of approval from the Healthy Back Campaign, making them some of the most comfortable seats in the market.
Thanks to the previously mentioned engine, the Amarok can reach 62mph in an impressive 7.9 seconds, while carrying on to a top speed of 120mph. With 550Nm torque, the Amarok is perfect as a towing vehicle, providing plenty of low-down grunt at any speed.
A new multifunction steering wheel features in the cabin, giving drivers easy access to all of the car’s major controls. Paddle switches can also be specified, giving drivers to ability to select their gear of choice in the car’s 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The car’s infotainment system can also relay smartphone apps to the driver through a USB connection, meaning that owners can have up-to-date travel information uploaded directly to their car.
Prices for the all-new Amarok start at £19,560 for the rear-wheel-drive double cab wersion.
