Nissan warns motorists to check for cats

Japanese carmaker Nissan has released what is possibly the cutest car safety video ever.

??As part of the #KnockKnockCats campaign, the short has been produced to encourage motorists to check for cats under their vehicle’s bonnet and in wheel arches during the cold winter months.

Cats of all shapes and sizes are shown in the video, which starts off in a light-hearted mood before turning to its serious message.

Many cats looking for warm and sheltered sleeping spots choose to sleep in and around cars, and drivers may not always notice them when they get in their car and drive off the next morning.

In an attempt to prevent tragedies from happening, Nissan is calling for motorists to knock on their vehicle’s hood and listen for a ‘meow’ before driving their car.

The video has amassed almost 750,000 views since it was uploaded last Monday, showing, if proof were needed, that the internet can’t help but love cats.
