Nissan is building on the green credentials of its Leaf by launching an electric version of the NV200 van. Badged, e-NV200, it’s aim is to clean up the polluted city streets, with zero emission motoring.

Underneath it uses much of the battery technology from the Leaf family car, but with the rear suspension from the NV200 to help with load carrying.

Despite the electric power, its still extremely practical, capable of carrying two euro pallets and up to 770kg. When it hits showrooms in July, it will be available as a two seater van or five seater combo, and promises a range of just over 100miles.

While many potential customers may be concerned about range, if using the quick charger, it will give 80 per cent charge in just 20 mins.

Prices start at £22,895 for the combi, or £17,895 with a £61 monthly battery lease.
