Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Review

October 27, 2014 | By | In Reviews, Video

When it comes to building mad performance saloons, Mercedes certainly has the template nailed down – and their latest hot E-Class is one of the wildest versions yet.

Powered by a 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine fitted with not one, but two turbochargers, the E63 AMG remains one of the fastest saloon cars money can buy. 0-60 is dealt with in 4.2 seconds, and you’ll very quickly reach the AMG’s electronically limited 155mph top speed.

Inside, all the usual Mercedes luxuries can be found, albeit with a few sporty touches. Black leather and carbon fibre covers the dashboard and doors, while the distinctly grippy steering wheel is swathed in alcantara.

There are plenty of toys too, including ‘dynamic’ massaging seats that grip you in corners, a trick multimedia system with the option of Bang and Olufsen speakers, and countless suspension and engine settings to play with.

Interested? The E63 AMG starts from just over £74,000, though if you’ve less budget, used versions of the model are available on Motors.co.uk.
