Russian motorist takes cop on terror ride

A routine traffic check for Russian policeman Alexander Seleznev turned into the worst possible day in the office after a perpetrator drove off with him clinging to the bonnet.

Seleznev pulled over a vehicle during a routine series of traffic checks but rather than slow down and comply with the law, driver Sergei Siluyanova attempted to flee the scene.

Unfortunately, officer Seleznev had little time to react and was thrust upon the bonnet of the moving vehicle. In a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood action movie, Seleznev found himself clinging to the moving vehicle for up to a mile as it darted in and out of traffic.

The clearly frightened lieutenant can be seen clinging to the bonnet thanks to dashcam footage retrieved from Siluyanova’s vehicle. The harrowing film shows the car swerving to avoid other vehicles and eventually throwing the officer into oncoming traffic.

Lieutenant Seleznev was taken to hospital after the accident. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Siluyanova, who was arrested by police two days later, told police he drove off because he was afraid of going to prison.
