Refreshed Hyundai i40 priced from £19,600

Hyundai has announced price and specification details for its recently refreshed i40 family car range. The new model, which is available in both saloon and estate guises, is priced from £19,600 to £28,850 on the road.

Aiming to steal sales from the likes of the new Ford Mondeo, the i40 will be available with just one engine: a 1.7-litre diesel unit offered with 113bhp or 139bhp. CO2 emissions for the range start from 110g/km.

Hyundai claims it has made improvements to ride and handling as well as the i40’s styling. Most notably, the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, along with the headlamps, for a fresher look. A seven-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox is now also offered alongside the standard six-speed manual.

This spacious and practical model is generously equipped, with even entry-level S models coming with 16-inch alloys, Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, automatic headlights and steering wheel-mounted audio and telephone controls.

Move up to SE Nav trim and for a £2,000 premium you’ll get heated front seats, touchscreen sat nav, a parking guidance system with rear-view camera, and DAB radio from an uprated audio system.

SE Nav Business models add leather trim and keyless entry, but those after a bells-and-whistles version should consider models in Premium trim, which come with a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, a lane departure warning system and black and chrome exterior trim details.

The new Hyundai i40 is available to order in UK showrooms now. Alternatively, you can search Motors.co.uk for a used i40 here.
