A special edition ‘British Legends’ version of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS has been unveiled by the Stuttgart brand to celebrate its success at Le Mans.

After winning at the famous French circuit 19 times, Porsche has created three special versions of its 911 Carrera 4 GTS to celebrate its winning British drivers.

Derek Bell MBE, Richard Attwood and Nick Tandy were invited to help design the cars – reflecting the liveries and racing heritage associated with these legendary drivers and cars.

Derek Bell is the most successful British Le Mans 24 hour driver ever, with no less than five wins under his belt. He decided to create his 911 with inspiration from the 1982 winning car he drove. Finished in Sapphire Blue metallic paint, the exterior also features white, red and gold detailing.

Richard Attwood was inspired by his 1970 winning Porsche 917. His 911 is finished in Guards red with white livery.

In contrast 2015 Le Mans winner Nick Tandy has chosen Carrera White Metallic to reflect the white colours on his 919 Hybrid racer. The 911 Carrera 4 GTS version will also feature the same black and grey detail that was found on the race car.

All 911 Carrera 4 GTS British Legends Edition come with a 3.0-litre flat-six engine that produce 444bhp, propelling the car from 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds. This is also thanks to Porsche’s ingenious PDK double-clutch gearbox, which aims to offer seamless, instantaneous gear changes.

The cars also feature LED headlights, a Union Jack motif on the B-pillar, Sport PASM chassis including dynamic control, 18-way electrically adjustable seats automatic lights, automatic wipers and Union Jack motifs throughout the cabin.

The cars are on sale now with prices starting at £122,376 for the Guards Red edition and £123,210 for the Sapphire Blue and Carrera White models.
