Phone case survives 120mph impact

Don’t you just hate it when you’re in your car and your mobile phone explicably finds itself sailing out the window, landing hard on the Tarmac below? No? It can’t just be us, as phone case company Urban Armor Gear has developed a case that will protect your phone from just that very scenario.

In fairness, the brand’s ‘folio’ case, tested in the video above, isn’t specifically engineered for this eventuality, but as you can see it holds up pretty well in a high speed asphalt interface.

Dropped from a Porsche 911 Turbo (what else?), the phone is subjected to tests at 60mph, 100mph and 120mph, and only shows signs of damage when the force of the impact partially dislodges it from its protective sheath. Impressive stuff.

If you fancy recreating the experiment for yourself, you can search Motors.co.uk for your own Porsche 911 here.
