The order books have opened for Audi’s all new SQ7 TDI.
Based on the German carmaker’s award winning Q7 model, the SQ7 claims to be the most powerful diesel SUV on the market. The first S model to feature in the Q7 line-up, the high-performance car is only Audi’s second venture into S-badged SUVs, following the 2012 SQ5.
The model is also notable as the first production car to feature an electronically powered compressor, which supplements two conventional turbos to abolish turbo lag.
Its 4.0-litre V8 TDI engine makes 429bhp and 900Nm which is sent to all four wheels, allowing the model to rocket to 60mph in 4.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 155mph.
With seven spacious seats in the luxurious cabin, the SQ7 boasts performance and practicality. But, with a starting price of £70,970 on the road, it is significantly more expensive than its standard sibling, the Q7, which is priced from £48,455.
However, the SQ7 boasts a host of advanced equipment, which contributes to its high price. A new driving dynamics sports pack features on the model, including quattro with sports differential, all-wheel steering and electromechanical active roll stabilization exclusive to the SQ7 TDI.
An extensive spec lists is also seen, with features such as S-specific interior and exterior details, virtual cockpit, adaptive S air suspension, active sound exhaust system, rear view camera and Valcona leather upholstery with S embossing all coming as standard.
Meanwhile, optional extras such as 22-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, Audi Matrix LED headlights and a Tour pack featuring Traffic Jam Assist and night vision can also be specified.
The exciting SUV is available to order now, with first deliveries starting in August.
