A new special edition Nissan Navara has been revealed at the Brussels motor show.
It’s based on the top-spec Tekna model, is only available as a ‘double cab’ and comes with a whole host of extras. Just 1,500 will be built.
The 1° moniker comes from the location of the Navarre desert in northern Spain from which the Navara gets its name, which sits at 1-degree of longitude.
The only engine on offer is a 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel. Buyers who opt for the six-speed manual transmission have a choice of either 158bhp or 187bhp, while those who tick the seven-speed automatic transmission box can only get the more powerful version.
On the exterior, there are black roof bars and powerful forward facing LED spotlights to improve visibility at night. Other aesthetic touches include 18-inch six-spoke alloy wheels and a new bed load cover. The latter is made from a high-grade durable plastic and can be optioned in black or white. It uses twin gas struts to allow for easy lifting.
Beneath the cover sits a load bed divider and liner to keep luggage safely in position, and comes with a ‘C-channel restraint system’ that can slide backwards and forwards to make it easier to load.
Optional extras include leather heated front seats with eight-way adjustability, powered sunroof, tow bar, differential lock and full-sized spare wheel.
The Nissan Navara Trek-1° is now on sale in Belgium and will roll out to other European markets in the coming weeks.
