New Land Rover Discovery crowned ‘Car of the Year 2017’

The new Land Rover Discovery has been crowned ‘Car of the Year 2017’ by automotive magazine Auto Express.

Recognised for its unique blend of practicality, versatility, refinement and off-road credentials, this latest accolade celebrates the evolution of the Discovery lineage.

Jeremy Hicks, Managing Director at Jaguar Land Rover said: The latest Land Rover Discovery is a real step up in terms of technology, design and capability from its predecessor. It’s the ultimate expression of Land Rover’s blend of ability, luxury and practicality, and we are thrilled that it is getting the recognition it deserves with this ‘Car of the Year’ title.”

Flexible seating configurations designed for modern life is one of the technology features Auto Express’ rigorous testers examined. The spacious cabin accommodates seven full-sized adults comfortably and can be instantly configured from a smartphone using world-first remote ‘Intelligent Seat Fold technology’.

Features such as a generous 2,406 litres of luggage space, best-in-class 3,500kg towing capacity, nine USB ports, and semi-autonomous safety technology, won favor with the judges.

The new Discovery joins its smaller sibling, the Discovery Sport, in Land Rover’s Discovery family of vehicles. The Discovery family couples Land Rover’s world-beating all-terrain performance with all the technology and flexible features required for modern living.
