Mini reveals John Cooper Works Clubman?

The latest in the JCW-badged Mini models has been revealed, ahead of next month’s Paris Motor Show.

The new Mini Clubman JCW will boast the John Cooper Works performance while retaining the practicality and all-wheel-drive capabilities of the Clubman.?

A host of upgrades already seen on the John Cooper Works Hatch and Convertible models will feature on the Clubman JCW, including sports suspension and an uprated braking system.

The 2.0-litre engine boasts a modified turbocharger made from a particularly heat resistant material, which allows for an increased output of 231hp between 5,000 and 6,000rpm. This extra 39hp on the standard Cooper S engine makes for a 0-62mph time of just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 148mph.

Style will also be significantly upgraded over standard Clubman models. While aggressive front and rear bumpers, and a rear wing provide the aesthetics to match the powertrain, they also serve a more practical purpose. Both sections help to reduce lift, while the front bumper aids with additional cooling requirements of the more powerful engine.

As with any John Cooper Works model, the badging and unique alloy wheels denote the car’s superior performance, and the introduction of the special ‘Rebel Green’ colour will really make it stand out from the crowd.

In the cabin, there are sports seats, an Alcantara headliner and a selection of standard equipment including Mini Navigation and cruise control with brake function.

?Dealers are taking orders for the Clubman JCW now, with a six-speed manual offering starting at £29,345 on the road, while the eight-speed sports Steptronic transmission option costs from £30,945.
