The brand new Mazda 2 supermini may be waiting in the wings, but the old model isn’t ready to bow out just yet; Mazda has announced two final models – the Black and White Editions.
These new models were launched at the turn of the new year and weigh in at £12,145, with bespoke interior and exterior styling setting them apart from lesser 2s. These colour-coded models feature bespoke exterior details such as a sporty diffuser-style rear bumper, tinted windows, dark grey 15-inch alloy wheels and the no-cost option of bonnet and roof stripes.
As for the interior, the Black and White cars boast unique details with body-colour door trim and air vents, a glossy dark grey audio panel and black upholstery with red piping. Standard kit includes air conditioning, heated and electric-folding door mirrors, a CD player and USB connection for playing music from your smartphone, plus a Bluetooth hands free system at no extra cost. Both models feature a lively 1.3-litre petrol engine, which produces 74bhp and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine carries the car to 62mph in 14.9 seconds and returns official combined fuel economy of 56.5mpg.
The current Mazda 2 range is also now available with a zero deposit, nought per cent personal contract purchase finance scheme, with the company contributing £750 to the price. Buyers who are able to put down a deposit of at least 30 per cent can also benefit from nought per cent finance over three years under Mazda’s conditional sale scheme. These finance offers are available until March 31.
