Kia reveals GT4 Stinger concept

January 3, 2014 | By | In News

The aggressive front end, super low profile and raked roofline of the upcoming GT4 Stinger concept might just be the biggest hint at a sporty Kia yet.

The slinky silhouette seen above will be on display at the upcoming Detroit motor show later this month and will show off a new 2+2 seating layout and turbocharged 2-litre engine from the Korean marque.

Kia currently sells the Pro-Cee’d GT, which, with its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, is about as sporty as things get in the current line-up. But the Stinger GT4 hints at the possibility of true rear-wheel-drive performance in the future.

That plucky 2-litre engine that sits beneath the elongated bonnet is said to produce an impressive 315bhp, while the enormous 20-inch rims and sharp styling are sure to turn heads.

The GT4 Stinger is strictly a concept car for now but Kia isn’t usually shy about implementing dramatic styling elements onto its road-going models. The ‘tiger nose’ grille that is clear in the image above is said to strongly hint at future design language and that could mean we may see the vertical LED light structures on future models soon.

More information will be released on January 13 when the model will be on display at the Detroit motor show.
