The great-grandmother of fashion, Iris Apfel, has been announced as the new brand ambassador for Citroen’s DS3.
The 94-year-old, who is known for her exotic wardrobe and oversized glasses has been chosen to front the brand’s ‘Driven by Style’ campaign, which reflects DS’s embodiment of avant-garde design.
The New Yorker has already featured in a colourful advertisement for the car, which was released yesterday.
Apfel’s career as a textile importer and interior decorator to the rich and famous began in the 1950s and ‘60s, at a similar time to the launch of the first ever DS, in 1955.
The new DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio are the latest in a succession of DS models and boast new design features that build on and replicate the original look of the DS 3 including its personality, refinement and style.
The new DS models are priced from £13,995.
