Ferrari meets unfortunate fate

A proud Ferrari owner was left feeling a little embarrassed after he crashed his recently purchased matte-red 458 Spider into a tree.

The Johannesburg driver lost control of the prancing horse on Eagle Canyon Estate where, as the temporary tell-tale plates suggest, he had been trying out his new set of wheels.

The location in question is actually a 20mph zone, so it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly how the driver lost control in such a built-up area. But the 485 can reach speeds of 60mph in a mere 3.4 seconds, so it’s possible he dropped the hammer a little too quickly.

With 458 prices exceeding the £200,000 mark, this was certainly a costly incident, and one that was highlighted across the world of social media by a Twitter user who happened to be at the scene.

The driver’s dream of owning this particular car was certainly short-lived.
