Corrie star misplaces car, reports it stolen

Ever experienced the blind panic when you return to your car only to find it’s not where you left it?

Coronation Street star Simon Gregson encountered the same thing last week when he couldn’t find his Jaguar, and quickly assumed it had been towed away.

After phoning the tow company, who denied having anything to do with the vehicle, Gregson called the police, concerned his car had been stolen.

However – much to his embarrassment – Gregson had simply forgotten where he’d parked it.

The blunder has caused the actor to be the butt of the jokes on the Manchester set of the long-running soap.

Taking to Twitter, co-star Craig Charles, publicised his friend’s mistake: “Life is good. Gregson thought he’d been towed.

"The pound didn’t have it. Reported it stolen to police. Turns out he forgot where he parked it.”

This isn’t the first time a celeb has called the police, crying wolf after misplacing their car. Earlier this year actress Liz Hurley accrued a total of £240 in parking tickets after misplacing her £75,000 Audi S6 saloon.

The star had parked it in Mayfair, central London to do a spot of shopping and reported it stolen after returning to where she thought she had left it. Hurley did eventually get reunited with her car, four days later.
