Bugatti pop-up showroom opens in London

With its famous £1 million price tag, and the extremely limited numbers in which it has been made, you’d be very lucky to see a Bugatti Veyron ‘in the wild’, with most no-doubt languishing in the dehumidified confines of their owner’s garage.

However, if you’ve always fancied checking out this hallowed piece of machinery in the metal, pop down to Jack Barclay Bugatti in London this week, and you’ll be in for a treat.

Hosting its first ever pop-up Bugatti showroom, the luxury car dealer, situated in Mayfair’s exclusive Berkeley Square, will be showcasing no less than six examples, which are open to public viewing from 9am-6pm till Friday, and 10am-5pm on Saturday.

On display will be the current World’s Fastest Car record holder the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport – capable of an incredible 267mph – and also the world’s fastest convertible, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

They will be joined by four other cars from a model line-up that has seen numerous variations and special editions, including  two further examples of the Vitesse, which uses the upgraded 1184bhp engine, as well as two of the original Grand Sport convertible models, with 988bhp.

Bugatti test driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel – the man responsible for taking the Veyron up to its record breaking top speed – opened the event and spoke to the assemble crowd on what it was like to pilot the car into unchartered territory, when he retook the top speed crown back from the American SSC Ultimate Aero in 2010.

Derek Bennett, general manager of Jack Barclay Bugatti, said: "HR Owen is proud to operate one of the world's largest Bugatti dealerships from our Jack Barclay showroom in London, and we are delighted to be able to work with our colleagues at Bugatti to create this Performance Week. This gathering of Bugattis is unique and a true highlight for car enthusiasts."
