Motors.co.uk brand icon and TV advertising star checks in – with a famous face along for the rideShoppers at the Grand Arcade, Cambridge came t-to-t with motorsport’s best-known face the other day. Could they have met F1 racing ace Lewis Hamilton? Well, it looks as if they did… but we’ll leave you to decide whether it was the real deal or a lookalike.
With him was the 10ft-tall Big Blue Wheel, our brand icon and star of motors.co.uk television commercials, there at the centre so that shoppers could be snapped beside it for a competition. The winner will appear in a future series of motors.co.uk press commercials. The event was staged as part of a long-running and intensive publicity campaign to raise awareness for motors.co.uk and to publicise its tie-in with local and regional newspapers. Here it was with the Cambridge News, belonging to Iliffe News and Media. This is one of the UK’s Top Ten regional newspaper owners, publishing 32 newspapers weekly that have a combined circulation of 1.2 million, plus a supporting network of web sites servicing the local communities.
Motors.co.uk is also linked to Northcliffe Media, one of the largest regional newspaper and web site publishers in the UK, including 18 daily newspapers, 28 paid-for weeklies and 50 free newspapers. It also operates a network of 18 thisis local web sites. Additionally, motors.co.uk is tied in with Baylis Media, who operate the Maidenhead Advertiser plus a series of titles covering Slough, Windsor and surrounding areas. Berkshire Media Group is another group which motors.co.uk works in partnership with, comprising 14 titles including the Reading Chronicle series.
