The Tumbler, the pavement crushing re-imagining of the Batmobile, which was hurled into movie stardom by Christian Bale is undoubtedly on the dream car list of ten-year old boys and ardent petrolheads everywhere.
Trouble is, given its enormous size, it’s quite hard to park. One US fan thought similar and created his own Tumbler, albeit a tad smaller than the original.
Based on an EZ-Go electric golf cart, the creater has sunk “well over $30,000” into the project, according to his Ebay advert.
The cart has been heavily modified and features disc brakes, sophisticated coil-over suspension and a secret anti-theft kill switch.
It’s also got four cupholders and an iPad stand – the only ‘luxury’ items in the spartan cabin.
Unfortunately, the electric-vehicle base doesn’t endow the Tumbler with much power. Despite the original motor being replaced with one from a go-kart, the diminutive Tumbler boasts just 6bhp, and has a top speed of just 38mph.
That hasn’t stopped one bidder snapping the creation up for the staggering $17,500 dollar asking price.
Unfortunately, Motors.co.uk doesn’t have any Batmobiles advertised for sale. However, you can seach for Bruce Wayne’s daytime wheels, a rather more subtle Lamborghini, here.
