2015 to be one of Ford’s busiest years ever

Ford is one of the most popular car brands in the UK, with an endless stream of buyers queuing up to put a Fiesta or Focus – the UK’s top two selling machines – on their driveways. However, the company is set to bring an onslaught of new models to the UK over the coming months, in what is set to be one of the company’s busiest years ever.

New cars to arrive on our shores imminently include the updated Mondeo – which was first unveiled way back in 2012 – which will give buyers the option of a hybrid for the first time in addition to four-wheel drive versions and turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol models, along with a more upmarket Mondeo Vignale.

This premium version of the evergreen large car aims to attract the attention of buyers considering German rivals including the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class. This plush version of the Mondeo should give customers a comfortable and luxurious interior and more sophisticated styling than the standard car.

In 2015, we’re excited to build on this momentum and reach new customers with everything from larger, more upscale cars and utilities to new performance vehicles to vehicles designed for families of every size.

All-new Galaxy and S-Max seven-seaters will also arrive over the coming months, along with updated versions of the smaller seven-seater Grand C-Max people carrier and five-seat C-Max. A large Edge SUV is also due to arrive in late 2015. At the performance car end of the scale, the new Mustang will go on sale with right-hand drive for the first time in its history this year, while updated versions of the Focus ST, including a diesel version, are also due to arrive imminently, giving buyers the choice of two fast hatchback models.

“In 2014, our new passenger cars, commercial vehicles and remarkable technologies helped us outperform the market and increase our market share in Europe,” said Jim Farley, chairman and CEO for Ford of Europe.

“In 2015, we’re excited to build on this momentum and reach new customers with everything from larger, more upscale cars and utilities to new performance vehicles to vehicles designed for families of every size.”
