Seat has unveiled its most powerful road car yet. The latest incarnation of the Leon Cupra boasts 296bhp and 380Nm of torque and is due to hit UK showrooms in March.

The Leon Cupra 300 will be available in three body styles of SC, five-door and ST, the latter of which will boast Seat’s 4Drive all-wheel-drive system and a DSG-auto gearbox.

Driver assistance systems such as Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Pedestrian Protection, plus, Electric Parking Brake and KESSY (Keyless Entry and Start) feature in this latest model, as does Seat’s integrated Media System Plus infotainment system with an eight-inch screen.

The car’s impressive power output is thanks to its newly uprated 2.0 TSI engine, which brings a 9.8bhp increase over the previous model. Torque has been increased from 350Nm to 380Nm, available from 1800 to 5500 rpm.

Dynamic chassis control (DCC), a progressive steering system and electronic self-locking differential as standard all feature on the potent hatchback.

The driver can customise the vehicle’s set-up via the Cupra Drive Profile, which offers the four modes of Comfort, Sport, Individual and of course, Cupra. The latter promises the ultimate in hot hatch performance and driving fun.

Full pricing and specifications of the three Leon Cupras are to be confirmed shortly before the model’s order books open.
