The new Mercedes-Benz V-Class Marco Polo camper van is now on sale, with prices starting at £53,180.
Based on the long wheelbase V-Class, it comes with space to seat and sleep four people. Inside is everything happy campers could ever need, including a wardrobe and built-in kitchenette with a fridge and a hob.
A two-seater sofa in the main cabin area can be pulled out into a bed, while a second bed is built into a roof compartment that can be raised electronically.
The only engine option is a 2.1-litre turbo-diesel unit, which is available in two power outputs. In 220d trim, it makes 161bhp with fuel economy of 44.8mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 166g/km. The 250d generates 187bhp and manages identical fuel economy figures while emitting marginally more CO2 at 169g/km.
Standard trim on Sport models includes yacht wood flooring, camping table and chairs, pop-up roof and swivelling driver and front passenger seats.
For an extra £2,140, AMG Line models get an AMG styling package for the exterior, 19-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, carbon-look dashboard and a spoiler lip on the tailgate.
Metallic paint is standard on AMG Line camper vans but costs £645 elsewhere. Other optional extras include Mercedes’ Comand infotainment system (£1,795), 360-degree parking cameras (£335) and a side awning (£695).
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class Marco Polo camper van starts at £53,180 for the entry level V 220d Sport, with the V 250d AMG Line the most expensive starting point at £57,195.
