Peugeot recently revealed its new and improved 3008 SUV, which it claims is ‘the most advanced vehicle offered by the brand to date.’ Today the French manufacturer has unveiled a GT model, which will sit at the top of the range.
The GT version gets an exclusive 2.0-litre diesel engine with 178bhp, making it the most powerful 3008 on sale. The engine and styling are designed to give buyers a sportier option, but it’s not being pitched as a performance vehicle, rather a signal of Peugeot’s move towards making more up-market vehicles.
To achieve this luxurious feel, the 3008 GT comes with a high specification, including 19-inch alloy wheels, sporty exterior upgrades, full Nappa Mistral leather inside, and a panoramic opening glass roof.
Other technological advancements in the GT include adaptive cruise control and a foot-operated electric boot opening.
Peugeot is also offering a GT Line spec below the full-fat GT model for buyers wanting the GT’s more luxurious feel, but with more choice over engine. This trim level is available on all engines across the range, which includes four petrol engines and five diesel engines offering different levels of performance and fuel economy.
In GT Line trim, the 3008 gets full LED headlights with sequential scrolling LED front indicators, a smartphone charging plate, and a 3D satellite navigation system. A Safety Plus Pack is also included, which comprises of Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keeping Assistance, Driver Attention Alert and Smartbeam Assistance driver aids.
The new 3008 will be available to order in the UK from November, with the first cars being delivered in January 2017.
