Just-released pics show new people mover will be a looker, with a family resemblence to the top-selling Fiesta.

This is Ford’s all-new C-MAX, which will be fully unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this month.

This newcomer has its work cut out, in a corner of the market occupied by cars such as the Renault’s new Scenic and Volkswagen’s updated Touran, which is due early next year. But Ford claims that the new will mark a leap ahead from the current model, particularly in its cabin which the company reckons will set new standards for the class.

There’ll be two versions of the car, one offering five seats and the other seven. Each will look very different – the smaller looking very car like, while the seven-seater will major on practicality and will feature sliding rear side doors. Both models will showcase new technologies, including a blind-spot protection system – to safeguard you when overtaking, and a parallel parking assist system. There’ll also be a new, economical 1.6 direct-injection petrol engine.
