New-look Volkswagen up! is open for orders

July 21, 2016 | By | In Advice

Volkswagen has opened its order books on the brand new up!, which has been updated to accommodate new styles, new engines and new features.

The city car, which was released in 2011, has been one of Volkswagen’s most popular models thanks to its small yet efficient engine and practicality, and this updated version has been given a facelift.

With an altered front grille, new LED running lights and rear bodywork, the 2016 up! has been designed to look more ‘mature’ and have a ‘more purposeful stance’.

New interior features have been added as well, such as a new steering wheel, Volkswagen’s Composition media system as standard and electric front windows. As well as this, new colours for the internal materials have been added to the range to add more diversity and personalisation to the up!.

A new trim line, in partnership with hip-hop star and producer Dr. Dre, has been added to the model – the up! Beats, which incorporates style and a full 300-watt seven-speaker Beats audio system.

Along with the new trim and accessories, Volkswagen has also introduced an updated engine, a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged unit that offers 90PS. This specification is available from August.

With other options available and brand new colours added to the Volkswagen range, the new up! will start from £8,995, while the top level up! Beats fitted with an automatic gearbox is £11,875.

The car will be available from showrooms later in the year.
